The drivers might still be installed, check them out. Also, check if there are any other services/apps conflicting with the update by putting the computer in safe mode.

I’m a tech, and I’ve been installing Windows 10 for well over a year and this is the first time I’ve come across this issue. I followed your steps but it still never worked. I didn’t have an option in the bios to disable any network devices. I have however fixed it, I physically removed the Bluetooth and WLAN card from the main board of the laptop and it worked straightaway.

fix this: windows 10 get error at install on empy hdd on asus x59sl series and other series of laptop. if i try to update from windows 7 or windows 8.0 get 0xC19100101-0x20017. windows 8.1 and window 10 boot sequence have an error, and programmers of Microsoft hurts in the ass.

I do not remember what computer I was working on.
What I did do is remove computers that could not be updated. My quess is that was the fate of the computer I was talking about.

I found the uninstalling of wireless card driver was only temporary. Windows 7 would reload it during next boot regardless of the BIOS wireless card setting. Just turning off the wireless in the BIOS did not prevent the error.
