Although Google remote desktop is working better now than it was it is STILL laggy in comparison to RDP… it is for me anyway… everyone may not have the same experience. Phew… glad I saw the guy’s post above about and changed from using a pin on that computer to an actual password… it works.
Thanks! After wasting an entire day trying to get RDP to work on one of my computers and hitting roadblock after roadblock… changing from logging in with a pin to an actual password is what fixed it! Thanks!
haha, why go through the hassle when you can just use Google Remote desktop. So much easier and faster. I stop using Microsoft remote deskop app. Google is your friend!
Thank you for your article!
I actually ran into the same issue with the error message Your credentials did not work, about six months ago. It was so frustrating because the credentials were correct but the system just wouldn’t connect.
I tried several solutions to fix it. One was ensuring the Allow log on through Remote Desktop Services policy was properly configured in the Group Policy Editor. I also verified that the username I was using matched the format required by the system. Unfortunately, neither of these worked in my case.
After a lot of trial and error I found an alternative that worked perfectly for me: the free HelpWire application. It allowed me to bypass the issue entirely and connect seamlessly without needing to troubleshoot further.
